what is buhurt?

Buhurt is a modern take on medieval tournaments. The fighters wear full body armor, those can be from different time periods and cultures. Every fighter chooses their own weaponry, from the classic falchion paired with a shield, halberd, Lucerne hammers, axes and maces to Japanese blades like the shōtō or daishō. The weapons are dull, but they get wielded with full force. There are different categories like duels, team-fights and MMA which have their own set of ruels. These are not show fights as you might know them from renaissance events or theme parks.

How did you end up here?

Well, my boyfriend started that hobby! So as the supportive girlfriend that I'm (not me tooting my own horn ahah) ~ I did what I do best: I brought my camera along and made sure he and his teammates have cool photos for their memories!
