what is cosplay?

The word Cosplay is a combination of the words costume and play, and is now a common and quite acknowledged part of pop culture. Over the last few years, it has grown in popularity, and many people have built their livelihoods in connection with cosplay. The model gets paid by studios to recreate a certain character, to share their work on social media, or visit an event. Tailors sell specific patterns or even custom-made clothing, the wig makers build gravity-defeating wigs or prop makers bring weapons or even magical items into this reality! There is even a world cosplay championship (WCC) where artists all over the world represent their country and have to compete in categories like best in armor, best in gimmicks/technology, and best performance.
